7 Days of Purposeful Prayer (Day 3)

SOZO 7 Days of Prayer

Day 3: July 3, 2024

Theme: Prayer in unity is a mighty weapon

Scripture: Ephesians 6:11-12 (KJV) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Too many of us refuse to engage in combating the evil of the day because we lack confidence in ourselves as Children of God. This means the advance of evil goes unchecked. This is also why things do not get better in the natural and we blame the victims for the crimes. That is not how God wants us to operate. We are here to bring the characteristics of the kingdom to the Earth in our time here.

You can see why God does not want us to engage in the same sinful ways. He knows that when we do, not only do we not do what is good, but we become part of what is bad. That is a double whammy! The devil is real and he is active, he has an agenda and he has the ability to sway us to act in agreement with it. We must be the "resistance". We must take the stand, and we must use the weapons He gave us.

Ephesians 6:13-14 (KJV) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

Don't argue with God in order to fit in, go along, or be trendy. He told you the days are evil so believe Him. Don't wake up and go about your day as if there is nothing to fight for, that is what being "lukewarm" is all about and people are destroyed in that kind of environment. If you need an agenda, fight for God's will. If you need motivation, read the Word of God. If you need validation then pray and listen to the Spirit.

Prayer in Action:

Think about how you apply this in your life right now. Feel the sense of urgency of the Lord to do something in the Spirit and stand with God.

Ephesians 6:18 (KJV) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

  1. who can you pray for, that you know is lost or hurting today?

  2. what area of our nation's life needs intercession so that it improves?

  3. what do our leaders need to address that is not getting addressed adequately?

  4. where is pain and suffering most obvious that we can and should pray about?

Take time today to pray for each of these areas in your own words, and ways!

Certainly make your own list but join with the following partial list that I believe comes straight from God's heart. Because "it is written" we do not need to argue about it we just need to do it together.

  1. freedom from poverty and addiction for all the people of this nation

  2. open and honest discussion so that together we can solve the issues with our culture

  3. unity of the faith so not only would we come together but it would be "in Christ"

  4. Godly leadership over this nation so that we all would be blessed, together

Prayer in Unity (suggestion):

"Heavenly Father, we come together today to stand with you for the blessing of all of the people of this nation. No matter their origin, we pray that they would be people of virtue so this nation can prosper. May each of them come into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ to fulfill the call on their own lives, but let them also sow life to the people around them.

Lord, we ask that you would quench the spirit of division and rebellion that is so very present so that we can come together to serve you. May the blessings we have not be taken for granted but may we confess boldly that all good things come from you. May we each and all repent of our issues before judging others, but as we walk upright we might lead others to righteousness.

Lord, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, for You alone are Lord and everything in the universe is under your power, Amen!”
