Prayer/Fasting: Week One, Day One through Seven

As we begin 2021 we find ourselves in a world that is fearful, divided, and in many ways defeated. Behind the scenes, God has been preparing us to rise from where we are a renew our passion and commitment to God's work and His will in our lives. In order to achieve that we need clarity on where He wants to take us. For a body of believers that will require they come into agreement, walk together, and have "one heart and soul" toward the future. This is why we are beginning 2021 seeking to be a church in spiritual unity.

Spiritual unity comes when we go into a time of prayer, fasting, and worship together. We believe these three components create the right spiritual environment within which to ask the following questions of God;

  • What is it that you are planning for the coming year?

  • Where do you want me to be in that plan?

  • How do you want me to prepare for that plan?

2021 will be a year of not just starting something new, but seeing it all the way through. Not just starting a plan, but counting the cost of that plan and finishing it. Not just having your own agenda, but adopting more of God's will on your own life. Are you ready and able to go the distance in 2021? Let's join together as one, and let's get the mission done in 2021!

Week One of Three, Days One through Seven

2 Chronicles 7:13-14 (NASB) "If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

As we begin these 21 days of unified prayer, praise, fasting, and feeding, our goal is to dedicate our hearts to God over this period. We are doing it together as a show of our desire that God use our church even more mightily in 2021, and we will allow us to prepare us for that service.

Our goal is to spend a minimum of 21 minutes each day for 21 days,  broken into three sections of a minimum of  7 minutes. Each section is intended to give you some time with God to enjoy. Don't make it a chore, word hard to free yourself to get closer to God. Find a good place where you can be alone for each part and decide whether you want to do it all in one 21 minute (or more) session, or break it up during the day.

First 7: Time of Praise with selections from your library or our SOZO Playlist

Second 7: Time of Fasting/Feeding with Bible devotions (feel free to replace it with your own)

Third 7: Time of Prayer/Journaling as you converse with God

This week, the focus is  the nation, its current condition, and the people in it. Let's draw together so God knows that we are willing to come together as a body so He can inhabit our church. From every diverse vantage point and background, we should thank Him for the members of our body and ask Him how He wants to use us more in 2021.
