Goliath Principle: Be Ready!

Goliath was ready to enter the battle at a moment's notice. He did not fear Goliath, even though the soldiers armed for battle stood afraid. He had a secret weapon that made him ready and willing to fight!

David and Goliath

1 Samuel 17:26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

If you were with us this Sunday you know that we came together, to stand against the devil's plans to destroy our families. Whether that destruction is focused on one person, or there is a curse that we know is being played out across many, we know we must end it in our generation. The reason it must end is so the curses (whatever they might be) end with us, and the blessings flow into the generations.

You were all asked whether God has called you personally to stand in the gap, and I was pleasantly surprised at how many people stepped forward. Whether young or old, male or female, we stood together and we asked the Holy Spirit to give us the strength to persevere. We thank GOD we are already seeing results, but we all need strength to hold on for the duration. That is where need God to hold our hands up until we hear the chains falling.

This morning as I was praying and meditating it became clear that there is a principle worth considering as we wait upon the Lord in battle. It is the same principle that David demonstrated when he stood up to Goliath. It is simple really; always be ready and willing to stand up for the righteousness of God!

In order to do this, you must know the promises, then be willing to stand on them. That means you have to be willing to fight the good fight of faith and stand up to the enemy for yourself and for others. That places us all in desperate need of God's righteous power to sustain us. We do not win the battle under our own power, but God's!

The world is in need of brave and true believers that understand God's will and will be obedient to bring it to pass by resisting the enemy. Our families are just one place we do that, and when we do, many are blessed by our courage and obedience!

Always be ready and willing to stand up for the righteousness of God!
