Reviving Spiritual Power

Reviving Spiritual Power

1 Thessalonians 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

While the world is becoming more willful and in fact denying God more and more, there is a danger which is even more pressing. It is the denial of the power of GOD by the very people of GOD. This denial closes off the world from salvation by presenting a counterfeit to them. You see, men naturally seek to control and exert influence (power) over one another. They seek power because they think; 1) the power they seek will make them safe, and 2) power makes their lives more livable. This is the opposite of the gospel and often explains why people reject it. They want to do what they want to do.

The blessing to the meek (humble) is that; 1) they do not seek to control, and 2) they do not mind being under authority (control) of others. Their challenge is in finding the right person to be under the authority of. If you have a humble and contrite heart then you do not buck and rebel in life, and as well, you accept control of higher authority. This does not mean you are a docile, victim, but that you recognize and can submit to higher authority. It sets you up so that when you find GOD, you more easily come under the leadership of that ultimate authority. I believe this is why the “meek shall inherit the Earth”. The meek shall seek to be ruled over by the LORD f ALL. They will inherit what the Lord has authority over, which is all things. The fact that they serve the Lord explains why they INHERIT the KINGDOM.

In order to revive the fullness of spiritual power in our lives we need to be “meek” and we need to submit to GOD in that humility. This is hard for most of us to do, and even the naturally meek, may use that as an excuse to fail to serve GOD. They can have a false sense of humility which is nothing more than a lack of self-confidence. They then have to learn to “boast in the Lord and the power of His might” as they learn to love themselves. That love in their hearts will cast out the fear of serving GOD and failure.

We all have much to learn, and we can start by renewing our commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ!! I pray that today, you ask GOD for ways that you can renew that commitment. The revival of the power of GOD in your life will be the change you need to succeed!
